September
In the month of September I will be assisting the students in getting situated in their classrooms, becoming familiar with routines and procedures, and transitioning between classes. I will also provide academic support in the Resource Room and aide in the implementation of any necessary modifications and accommodations in classrooms. Scantron testing will take place in the areas of mathematics and reading. The results of these assessments will determine which students may benefit from remediation. For these students, remediation will begin after testing has completed.
October
In the month of October we will be settling into our classrooms and have a better idea of what classes we are successful in as well as what classes might be a bit of a struggle. Progress report cards are sent home every Monday with our current grades posted and any missing assignments (according to PowerSchool) listed. As a Resource Program teacher, I am available for aide in the implementation of any necessary modifications and accommodations in the classroom or direct academic support in the Resource Room.
November
In the month of November we are gearing up for the end of the trimester. I meet with all students regarding their current classroom grades and inform them of any missing assignments. Together we meet with teachers to get a top priority list of what responsibilities each student has in order to get the best grade possible. We also work hard in the Resource Room to complete end of the trimester projects and prepare for final exams! Almost time for a new trimester!
December
In the month of December we are starting to settle in to our 2nd trimester classes and become familiar with the routines, procedures, and expectations for each class. I am continuing to give the students a new progress report each Monday, on which will state the students current grades in each class and lists any missing assignments. Support for those assignments as well as current assignments is always available in the resource room.
